Established in 1971 as a small farmworkers' organization, the New England Farm Workers’ Council (NEWFC) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for thousands of low-income farmworkers throughout the region.
Our programs focus on employment skills training and education, along with the support needed, as the only sure path out of poverty and social dependency. Providing a hand up rather than a handout is the agency’s approach to social services.
The National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP) provides the services needed to ensure that farmworkers and their dependents receive support, guidance, education, and skills training to develop sustainable employability. The goal of the program is to foster growth, independence, and development.
